Free Mini rental offer reported for all Residential plans
SatelliteInternet.com reported on Sept 22, 2026 that Starlink is emailing Residential 100 Mbps and 200 Mbps customers an optional Mini rental with discounted Roam plans. It used to be a Residential Max perk. No code is involved.
Reported, not confirmed

Reported, not confirmedPart of this post rests on third-party reporting we couldn’t confirm on a Starlink page. Those parts are labelled. We re-check Starlink’s pages weekly.
The short version
- What changed?
- Per the report, customers on the 100 Mbps and 200 Mbps Residential plans received emails saying they're eligible for the Mini rental with discounted Roam plans. Until then, Starlink's Special Offers document described the perk for Residential Max subscribers.
- When did it change?
- Reported Sept 22, 2026. Starlink's Special Offers document we last read is dated Aug 12, 2026 and covers Residential Max. We read the report on Oct 6, 2026.
- Who is affected?
- Existing Residential customers who get the email. It's offered after you subscribe, so it doesn't change what a new customer types or sees at checkout.
- What should you do now?
- Nothing at checkout. Pick your Residential plan on its own merits. If you later get Starlink's email, read its terms there. Ignore anyone selling a "Mini rental code".
- What stays the same?
- No code box at the US checkout. The referral free month still comes only through a customer's link and still covers one month of the plan you choose.
What happened
On Sept 22, 2026, SatelliteInternet.com reported that Starlink had widened its optional Mini rental offer. Customers on Residential 100 Mbps and Residential 200 Mbps were getting emails saying they could rent a Starlink Mini and add a discounted Roam plan. Until then, the perk was for Residential Max, as set out in Starlink’s Special Offers document (published Aug 12, 2026). We covered that earlier step in the Max perk returning.
The report gave these Roam prices. They’re press-reported and we haven’t seen them on a Starlink page:
| Roam plan (reported) | Residential 100 / 200 Mbps customers | Residential Max customers |
|---|---|---|
| Roam 100GB | $44/mo | $27.50/mo (50% off) |
| Roam 300GB | $64/mo | $40/mo (50% off) |
| Roam Unlimited | $140/mo | $87.50/mo (50% off) |
Why it’s on a code site
Two reasons. First, the offer is a good example of how Starlink discounts work in the US: they’re shown to you by Starlink, here by email after you subscribe, not unlocked with a typed code. Pages promising a “Mini rental promo code” have nothing to offer.
Second, it touches the plan choice. Both Residential and Roam plans are on Starlink’s referral plan list. The referral gives a qualifying new customer one month of the service plan they order through the link. Whether you later add a rented Mini is a separate step.
What you can check now
- If you’re ordering now, choose the Residential tier that fits your use. Don’t upgrade on the strength of a perk that arrives by email in select regions.
- Use a referral link, if you have one, when you place the order. Check the order page for the referral line before paying.
- If the email arrives later, read its terms and the rental conditions in your Starlink account.
What stays the same
There’s still no promo code box at checkout. Our FAQ and promo code answer are unchanged.
What we don’t know yet
- Who exactly gets the email. The report says it's offered in select regions and isn't shown at signup (checked 2026-10-06).
- Whether Starlink will update its Special Offers document to cover the 100 Mbps and 200 Mbps plans. The version we read (Aug 12, 2026) names Residential Max.
- How long the reported Roam prices last. The report gives no term.
