Check a Starlink referral link or code before you use it

Got a link from a friend, a stranger in a comment, or a “promo code” from a deals site? Paste it here first. You’ll see where it really goes and whether a code is in it.

Paste a link or a code

Paste the whole message if you like. We’ll find the link inside it. Examples: RC-000000-… or a link that starts https://www.starlink.com/.

Checked on your device. What you paste isn’t sent or saved. This tool reads the shape of a link; it can’t tell whether a code is live or whose it is. Only starlink.com’s order page can (“Referral Code Applied”).

Is a referral code a scam?

A real one isn’t. It’s a normal part of how Starlink signs up new customers, and the person who shares it gets a reward from Starlink, not from you. The risk is where a link takes you. A real code only ever works on starlink.com. You never pay the person who shares it, and you never give them your address or card details.

Red flags, worst first

  • Any site other than starlink.com asking for card details or your address “to apply the code”. The kit and plan must be bought directly on starlink.com; stores, unauthorized resellers and private transfers don't count.
  • A lookalike address such as one with extra words, dashes or numbers around the name.
  • Someone asking for money, a gift card or a “fee” to give you a code. Codes are free to share.
  • Shortened links (bit.ly, tinyurl and so on) from people you don’t know. You can’t see where they lead.
  • Promises the program doesn’t make: a free dish, cash back, “three months free”. The referral gives one free month of service, nothing more.

What a good link looks like

https://www.starlink.com1 · The website. Must be exactly starlink.com. Anything else is not where a code works./residential2 · The page. Home service (residential) or travel (roam). Sometimes missing.?referral=RC-XXXXXX-XXXXX-XX3 · The code. This is what people call “the referral code”. It travels to checkout inside the address.
The parts of a referral link. The code is the last part; the sample uses X’s, not a real code.

What this checker can’t tell you

  • Whether a code is still active, or whose it is. Only starlink.com knows that. The order page shows "Referral Code Applied" before you submit, and a banner at the top of starlink.com says you're using a referral link Third-party report.
  • Whether you qualify. That depends on your history with Starlink and your address. The four checks.
  • Whether a hand-built link counts. Whether a link you assemble by hand from a bare code counts the same as the link the customer copied from their account Not confirmed isn’t confirmed.
Your privacy

The check runs in your browser. We don’t receive what you paste. We only count which result came up (for example “short link”), so we can see which warnings people need. Privacy policy.
