Starlink Mini kit offered at $149 by email, no code needed
Tesla North reported on Oct 2, 2026 that a Starlink email offered the Mini kit for $149, down from $249. The offer came by email with no code to type. It changes the kit price only, not the referral free month.
Reported, not confirmed

Reported, not confirmedPart of this post rests on third-party reporting we couldn’t confirm on a Starlink page. Those parts are labelled. We re-check Starlink’s pages weekly.
The short version
- What changed?
- Tesla North reported receiving a Starlink email on Oct 2, 2026 that put the Mini kit at $149 instead of the usual $249, a $100 cut. The email said a service plan is required and that price and availability may vary. We couldn't confirm the price on a Starlink page.
- When did it change?
- Email reported Oct 2, 2026. No end date was given. We read the report on Oct 6, 2026.
- Who is affected?
- People thinking about a Mini kit, who may see a lower kit price on starlink.com or in their inbox. Nobody needs a code to get it, and existing Residential or Roam orders aren't affected.
- What should you do now?
- Check the kit price on starlink.com for your own address before you buy. Ignore sites selling a "Mini promo code": the reported offer didn't use one. If you use a referral link, open it before you order.
- What stays the same?
- There's still no promo code box at the US checkout. The referral still comes only through a customer's link, and the free month it gives covers one month of service, not the kit.
What happened
On Oct 2, 2026, Tesla North reported that Starlink had emailed an offer putting the Starlink Mini kit at $149, down from its usual $249. According to the report, the email said a service plan is required to use the Mini and that price and availability may vary. It gave no end date and no plan prices.
Tesla North also noted that the price undercuts an earlier low of $199 from 2026. We haven’t seen the email ourselves and couldn’t find the $149 price on a Starlink help or legal page, so this post is labelled Reported.
Why it’s on a code site
Price drops bring out “promo code” pages. Expect search results promising a “Starlink Mini promo code” or a code to “stack” on the $149 price. The reported offer didn’t involve a code at all. It arrived by email, and as with Starlink’s other kit and service discounts, the price is what starlink.com shows you.
It also helps to keep two things apart:
| Kit price offer | Referral | |
|---|---|---|
| What it changes | The one-time price of the Mini kit (as reported) | One month of service, credited on bill 2 |
| How you get it | Shown by Starlink (here, by email) | Opening a current customer’s referral link |
| Code to type? | No | No, the code rides inside the link |
What you can check now
- Look up the Mini kit price on starlink.com with your own service address. That’s the price you’d pay.
- If someone offers you a “code” for the $149 price, don’t pay for it or enter card details anywhere but starlink.com.
- If you have a friend’s referral link, open it first, then check the order page for the referral line before paying. Our where to enter it guide walks through it.
What stays the same
There’s no public US promo code and no code box at checkout. Our promo code answer still holds: discounts are shown by Starlink for your address or come through a referral link.
What we don’t know yet
- Whether $149 is a short promotion or a new list price. The email gave no end date (checked 2026-10-06).
- Whether every US address sees the same kit price. The email said price and availability may vary.
- Whether the lower kit price applies when you order through a referral link. We expect it to, because the referral credits service, not hardware, but we haven't seen it on an order page.
